The scientific instrumentation laboratory at Phenikaa University in Hanoi is the group’s second facility of its kind in the Southeast Asian country.
Hanoi (SVBG) – The DKSH Business Unit Technology inaugurated on June 9 the facility equipped with high-end instruments from the world’s leading brands such as Malvern Panalytical, Agilent, Leica Microsystem, Merck, Binder, and Biomerieux.
“This state-of-art laboratory will be serving the rapidly growing scientific instrument market for various industries in Vietnam,” DKSH said in a press release.
The facility aims to foster collaboration between DKSH, academia, and a range of industries to increase the output of research and innovation.
Local manufacturers and businesses in the North of Vietnam are expected to gain access to a broad range of specialized services, such as instrument demonstrations, application engineering, sample testing and technical training to support their research and development (R&D), it said.
Robert Puschmann, managing director of Business Unit Technology for DKSH Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, said the modern scientific laboratory in Hanoi “demonstrates our commitment to empower the next generation of scientists and STEM students and to serve the demand for premium research solutions.”
In 2021, DKSH Vietnam opened a similar facility at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
DKSH, formerly Diethelm, was first established in Vietnam in 1890 with business activities in Saigon and Haiphong, importing consumer and pharmaceutical products and representing shipping lines and insurance companies.
It withdrew from Northern Vietnam in 1954 and from Saigon in 1955, then re-entered Vietnam in 1991 following the country’s “open door” policy in the early 1990s. SVBG
